St. Valentine was considered a Catholic martyr and although there were up to 14 St Valentines, the Church in Rome has the skull of one encased in glass. Supposedly he was preaching the good news (interesting) and who killed him or why eludes us.
It eventually morphed into a day of romatic love. It’s sad that the Catholic Church has only one celebration of love as it was.
The Bible tells us about God who loved us so much that He gave His only son for us.
We are told to love God, our brethren, and even our enemies. It is because of love that we are saved and the same love that causes us to spread the Gospel to others.
Let’s remember how, when and why to love, every day of our lives.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES, FUN, FOOD, GAMES AND PRIZES!
We met a new friend from the States named Regina. She had a burden to help the children in Payatas with their school supplies so instead of us having to raise the funds, she took care of everything which also included food, fun, and prizes. Click here to see it all!
FOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY
For the last three weeks, our friends in Canada gave us money to feed the poor. This time we decided to give it out as we went door knocking. Click to see it!
PASTOR JACK IS OUT OF SERVICE!
Two weeks ago I fell down a flight of stairs at the Church and hurt my coccyx. The next day I picked up a bag of cement and I heard crunch, crunch, crunch and I fell to the ground. From what I read, the first injury will heal in two weeks (which it did) the second will take 4 weeks. The pain is unbearable.Yet as they say, this too shall pass and God knows all and allows what is right.
BAPTISM BY VIDEO CALL
My sweet sister-in-law (Jocy) received Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. She came to visit us from Japan but wanted me to baptize her. I could not attend, let alone baptize her, so we got my nephew to do it as I proposed the words. It was a win, win, win!
GREAT NEWS! THE EYES HAVE IT!
I mentioned that I needed $2000 for my eye surgery. Our good friends in North Carolina sent the entire amount. God supplies our needs. The surgery is supposed to be in Ferbuary. Pray it goes well.
God is so good and we are so thankful for generous hearts.
Thanks to all our supporters. God bless you all!
