Another Christmas here and gone.

How many are now saying, “Gee, I’m glad that’s over.”?
Each year there is a certain amount of dread that comes to me despite
my faith and love of Christ. It is the dread that we have a Christmas
celebration to give to 100 kids and after that, mine and my Sister in
laws family to have a Christmas, followed by New Years and the two girls
birthdays,

I have this conversation with God every year. “Lord, I know you provide all my needs but how about my wants?”

This year began the same way. I started two months before
Christmas to raise funds and nothing was coming in. Week after
week—Nothing. Finally, I had my conversation with God but this year it
was different. “God, I know you supply all my needs and all you supply
should be all I want. In other words, God knows what we need, want and
He is ready to provide as we put our tust in Him. So I said, “It’s all
in your hands Lord.” I did not quit fund raising because I believe God
blesses our best efforts.

Jas 1:3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Jas 1:4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Then it came, God touched the hearts of some people and we raised
the $2000 needed. We had the best Christmas Celebration ever! Click here to see for yourself!

And then we were broke again. Twas the three days before Christmas
and all through the house, no food, gifts for anyone and none in sight!

And then God! We received a couple of generous donations and we were able to have a Christmas. Take a look here!

We are not fearful. We are looking to celebrate the Birthdays of
our children however God has planned it. It will be terrific.

After being here 8 years we have little ones graduating into the
youth group while youth are coming into the adult group. We are so proud
of all of them as their lives are showing the changes that only Christ
can give.
 

Well, the good news is we do not have to move, however our rent
was almost doubled. In the meantime I got an email from my Real Estate
guy who has an interested buyer! YaY! He want’s owner financing. Boo.
However if the down payment is right, we could buy a house here. YaY!
Pray whatever God’s will is, we will willingly accept it.

Our Kids

It’s so hard to believe (and I live with them) but Laura will turn
13 Feb 9th while Linda will be 9 on Jan 11th. How fast they grow and
yes, they have just finished school and need the books and materials for
Laura’s 1st year of High school and Linda’s 5th grade experience.
That is around a $500 experience. Pray for God’s intervention.

Thank You

We especially want to thank those special people who are called to
help this ministry. They have sacrificed and cheerfully given of
themselves as well as their funds. You know who you are. We sincerely
love you and the PBC Kids love you also.

We will be here eight years next month

Last year we decided to have an annual SALVATION CELEBRATION instead of an
anniversary. It is almost the same. We start out with our regular
Sunday service and then we have testimonies from both adults and
children. It is a heart warming experience. We have music by our very
own musicians and then we will eat a pot luck dinner followed by
contests and games. We are so happy to celebrate eight years and thank
those of you who help make this mission a success.

Laura and Linda finishing the 8th and 4th grades (Can you believe Laura is going into High School?

The handmade violin given by a generous craftsman
will be here on the 10th of November as Missionary Kevin Trout has
generously offered to bring it here when he comes from America.

Our two college students are finishing their 3rd and 2nd years

We are praying and looking forward to receiving more violins and guitars to replace our well worn ones.

The laptop computer given to me by Pastor Abrot
is just about wearing out as the Windows XP is no longer supported it is
beginning to slow down and is open to viral attacks. We are praying to
replace it with an updated model.

We have received two donations this month which
will help us immensely. Donations are at a low but just when we start to
feel the crunch, God leads someone to give. One thing which has been
needed for two years now are new glasses fo me. I can’t wait to see what
it is like to look through unscratched lenses!

We were also able to get a printer for our home
office. Malou has been running all over doing some Corporate work that
needs completing and she would have to load her usb and go to a Internet
cafe everytime she wanted to print something out or she would have to
wait until we went to Church. Now we can print and copy!

October 3rd was a great Pastor’s Appreciation day. I truly am blessed with a wonderful Church.

We are still looking forward and praying for our PBC Compound complete
with a large Church sanctuary, school, medical clinic and outdoor arena
for evangelism. At the low cost of $5 million dollars, that should be
easy for God.

The word harvest comes from the Old Norse word haust
meaning ?to gather or pluck.? In the early 1600s as more people started
moving into cities, the word harvest fell out of use. Instead, city
dwellers began to use the phrase ?fall of the leaf? to refer to the
third season of the year when trees lose their leaves. The word fall comes from the Old English word feallan which means ?to fall or to die.? Over time, the phrase     was shortened to fall.your recipients’ first names.

Interestingly enough, that interpretation works well for this
ministry and even we only have Rainy days and sunny days here, in a
sense we also have Fall.

Our Fall does not consists of cool, windy days in which one would
don their sweaters, go outside and enjoy the sights and colors of a
vibrant changing season. No, our fall is like that of this picture. It
is when our money tree sheds most of it’s money, when most people are so
busy preparing to have a thanksgiving feast for a huge family get
together or start spending money for the annual Christmas bash. Alas
some Christians are planning to celebrate Halloween although that in
itself is sad. Children going back to school, new clothes and on and on.
No our fall is a fall in finances. There is no thanksgiving, although
most are thankful for whatever they have. It’s just not celebrated with a
large stuffed bird with all the trimmings. There is no halloween here
and thankfully so what we have left, is the hope of having our Christmas
celebration. Like the story above says, it’s a time of harvest and it
means to gather or pluck. If you remember your old testament it said you
were not to cultivate the edges of your fields and what ever fell when
harvesting was to be left there for the poor.
That is what we are asking for. As the fall of our supplies
dwindle and our children need school supplies and clothes and a happy
Chrismas celebration, would you please send us that which you kept on
the side for the poor as our Father has instructed?
 

We also know”Love is a very splendid thing” and “All you need is love”

How about you? What is your passion? We sometimes say, “Man, I love burgers”
or “I love football” and so on.
Yet the word love is to describe a relationship between people. I
love my wife, I love my kids. We need to pay attention to not placing an
inordinate affection on things that don’t matter or being less than
affectionate with those who do.
How is you love relationship with God? Is it your passion? Do you
wake up in the morning greeting Him or do you not feel that He is always
present? Are you quick to seek Him in times of trouble and more
important to be thankful for Him for all He has given to you?
Let’s focus today on our relationships of love. Our friends, our family and mostly, our God.

We are Thankful!

As I sit here writing my children are practicing their violins and
my wife is practicing the flute. I am completely overwhelmed at the
fact that not very long ago, none of them knew anything about music and
today, I have a free concert of sweet melody of which to listen. Thank
you Father for all you have given to us. You have placed your beautiful
music throughout my house and our Church. You have given to us
instruments and musicians alike and you have blessed them.
Please pray for new violins for our fourteen musicians. The difference in quality is astounding!
We also are planning a day of witnessing with violinists. They are
practicing now so that we will go down to the marketplace and our
violinists will play while the rest of the Church hand out tracts and
engages the people in Christian conversation.

PBC CONCERT

Please pray for our upcoming concert on Aug. 29th 7pm to 10pm at the local covered court.
All of our musicians will play, we will also have hand mimes and
testimonies as well as a Gospel message. Pray that we will be able to
reach many on that night.

PBC Academics

We have started the PBC book club and thanks to those who donated
so many books our kids are having a great time reading. They read 
during the week and on Saturday they have a teacher who reviews what
they read and helps them to understand the words and the plot.

Our Church children are doing great in school. Even the teachers
in their schools notice that our kids are the ones with the answers!
Our music ministry and academics department is constantly expanding.
Also, thank you for those of you who sent school materials. We
have some that were sent long ago that we are now using in our programs.
God is Good!

Our Children are Christians!

Remember how Christians first got their name in Antioch? It was
because they acted just like Jesus. We are so happy that all of our kids
have met the Saviour and are constantly being sanctified. One
grandmother said about her grandson that she was so pleased that he has
stopped cursing and he is now behaving. Some of these kids come in as
lions but when they meet Jesus they become His lambs.

Pray for PBC that we will have the space and resources we need.

I just found out that a dear friend is in the Hospital. she had a
massive stroke. Fortunately, it looks like it turn out good. Please pray
for her. I think sometimes these things are reminders for ourselves to
remember, our days are short and the work is much needed.

Well,
it took two months for customs to release the school books of our kids.
There are no words (at least good ones) that I could possibly use to
describe how I feel about the ineptness of this system.
Yet God knows all things and our kids are happily    back , doing their studies and doing them well. I thank God for their enthusiasm and their love of the work.

Baptisms

Baptisms are the advertisement for
a repentant heart and this month we had two.

RoseAnne (left) is the Aunt of Germaine (Right) Both of
them accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and wanted to be baptised
on the same day.

Praise God! After much prayer and many crashes we finally were
able to get a new computer for the Church. Well, we got the case and
power supply, the motherboard and the chip and the ram (are you
following all this?) and that’s about it. We will use the old monitor,
dvd recorder, keyboard and mouse but the insides will be mostly new.

Someone recently donated a tiny laptop which I gave over to our
book keepers. They were tired of losing records also. Now, they have a
computer just for the accounting.

We now have six students doing a special reading program, we have three new recorder players, one more guitar player and more showing an interest in learning.

Please pray that we can get better
instruments for these kids. We also are planning an outdoor evangelistic
performance of musicians and other talents. Hopefully that will be some
time in August. Please pray that the message of the Gospel reaches
thousands of Payatas people that night.

The children return to school here
in June. Please pray that they will have their school supplies needs met
as well as the funding for our college students.

How much greater a feeling to put your heart and soul into
planting seeds for the kingdom, watching people coming to the Lord,
joining the church and growing to repeat the process.

There is nothing at all like it.

Although we received a short
reprieve on having to leave our building, we are still in dire need of

As hard as winter can be, we always
have a beautiful spring. We have had the pleasure of the last eight
years to plant, cultivate and reap a harvest of men and women , boys and
girls who have committed their lives to Christ , were baptized and are
growing.

the salary of the Pastor is joy. I feel guilty that I am so over paid!
