With three different types of  personal outreach programs we are
fulfilling the great commission. Thousands are hearing the Gospel here
in Payatas.
We have our regular Saturday door knocking program where we
walk through the community speaking to individuals about the Lord. Our
normal attendance is between 51-68 persons!
It is amazing to see us all in our red PBC shirts spreading out in the streets. People love to talk to us.

The second program is Sunday afternoon visitation where the
ladies of the Church visit the homes of those who have been absent from
service or just those in need of a visit.

The third is our “Two by Two” program where our teams go
visiting the parents of the youth that attend the Church. Our groups
start Bible studies in their homes and they will invite their neighbors
to come hear the word of God. It has been very sucessful and we aquired
new members from all these programs.

MISSIONARIES
If you know someone who is led to be a missionary, please
let him/her contact us. Please advise that this is not a vacation place.

It’s Payatas!

As we have mentioned, our landlady has given us until next
month to leave the building. We have no money and found no place other
than one that costs $1.6 million dollars + $2.6 to improve.
Other than a major miracle, we will begin next week to look
for anything we can find. Please pray the Lord’s blessing on us.

marriages has cost us some supporters while the exchange rate is 20%
less than when we started. On top of that we have to leave our Church by
December and we have no money and no way to get any.
My children missed the last year of school as we only
received $150 towards the costs. We have put that on the side and we are
praying for more income.
Please pray. God is faithful and it is a Ministry that I
love so much. Helping others see Jesus and getting them on their feet,
teaching children and giving them hope for the future, it’s all been
great. We even had 68 doorknockers last Saturday.
the Payatas is an extremely poor area but it is a gold mine for souls. Please pray for the laborers.

the Red line indicates a rough property line.

Let me tell you about it. For six years, since we moved into
this little building, I have been passing this place that I felt the
Lord was telling me we would someday have. I prayed daily for it. Then
we received notice that we needed to move out of this place. We prayed
even harder. Some of the members went on a search party and could find
nothing to rent anywhere close to this mission field we were called to.
They did however find the above property. They came back and told me but
I was adamant that God was going to give us the other place. It wasn’t
until I did this Google Maps photo did I realize that everyday I looked
and prayed, this place was right behind the other place! God showed me
the direction but until now, never showed me the actual site. 2Co 5:7 
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Additionally, we wanted a Church that could hold two
thousand people. (I know this all sounds so crazy) There is a building
that is the size of a football field that will hold way over two
thousand people
.

This building has a roof and concrete walls along with steel
roof trusses. It needs to be fitted as a Church but it is the dream
that I have had for Payatas.
 

The Church believes, (As well as I do) that God is going to
make this all happen. I don’t know if he will do it $10 bucks at a time,
or a large benefactor will answer the call but in any event, WILL YOU PRAY WITH US?

I know some will laugh and others think we are crazy but I
believe that this is the place to make a difference and the real estate
investment is actually a investment in thousands of souls to who we will
minister.

God has brought us so far and it is so exciting to see the
incredible things that have happened in this tiny over crowded place.
Looking back it was obvious to me that I had absolutely nothing to do
with it except to say yes when God gave me direction and told me what to
do. That’s not being humble, that’s bragging on our God. It has been a
struggle each and every step of the way. We started with a budget of
$550 for house and Church and now we are only up to about $1,300 after
six years. BUT GOD…He has done so many amazing things
and now w e look forward with great anticipation. We pray that our
obedience to His word has been noticed and the one who rewards will do
it in this way.

OUR JEEP

I see photos of missionaries all the time with their four
wheel drives and vans and sometimes (not often) I look up to heaven and
say, “Lord” I am happy for them but can I be happy too?” God answered
that prayer and we bought a twenty one year old used “Owner Type” Jeep.
Come and look at the beginning and almost end product.

Malou and I are the only people in the church with a
vehicle. Recently, we sold our motorcycle to pay for some additional
guitars and a violin for the kids. That motorcycle was a godsend. It
brought us five years of great service and now it is changing kids lives
through music.

SPEAKING OF MUSIC!

We have now given out nine guitars,three violins,two
ukuleles, and a harmonica. We also have more children signing up for
lessons. As of today I believe we have twenty six.
The kids are doing fantastic and the service so joyous as our kids play their instruments to glorify our God.
We have started practicing and we hope that in September, we will make a Christmas CD with the Payatas kids.
 

We started a new program . We sent out teams of two to visit
the home of one of our kids who attend the Church. They bring a bag of
rice and some sardines and have a time of fellowship with the parents.
They start Bible studies and invite the neighbors. They will each take
about twelve weeks and by then the parents should be in attendance at
the Church and if not, they move on to the next family. We have seen an
increase in attendance by these people. It is great to see entire
families at Church.

April is a time of anticipation. We look forward to seeing
warm moist soil with little green shoots emerging. These represent the
wonderful daffodils and hyacinths and tulips that were so beautiful last
year.

We don’t get Spring here. As a matter of fact there are few ,
if any, flowers. We are not in that part of the Country that is
bursting with color. Except while I was at the hospital the other night
when I brought one of our Church kids for an injured foot and they
brought two men into the hospital. Their shirts were brilliant blood
soaked red and each had been stabbed.

I know, I know, who the heck wants to hear this stuff? Not
me that’s for sure. However, I can not just tell you all is well as you
smile and go back to your garden. You need to know in order to make a
decision to support us or not.

KIDS CAMP

As last year we are again in anticipation of sending at least 60 kids to camp. (Click on the word camp to see last years trip.

Some kids are anticipating the feeling of sleeping in a real
bed again or eating for five days without concern from where it will
come. They are remembering the comaraderie and camp meetings and zip
lines and games. Some new kids are wondering if this place is as good as
they hear from the older kids. All are very excited for the

VBS
We anticipate 100 children as we get every year to attend a
week long session of vacation bible school. Every year we teach 100
children how to know Christ and what He teaches us all. They enjoy
stories and games along with contests and snacks and all the energy 100
children can squeeze into a tiny two story building. Click here to see last years fun.

Australian Visitors

We are also anticipating a visit from our friends at the
Brimbank Church in Australia. So many times different Christian groups
have found us on the internet and have asked if they could help us in
some way. We have had medical missions, music programs, outreach of all
kinds. Our friends have asked to come and join us in ministering to the
kids. They will be arriving on the 31st and will spend Saturday and
Sunday with us.

MOVING or LEAVING?

Some anticipation is left up to one’s imagination. As you
read in prior issues, we have a limited time before we have to leave the
premises we call our Church. Although we have collected a few thousand
dollars towards the purchase of land and to build a building, donations
have been slow. Many thanks to those who have given. We are anticipating
God’s hand in this and causing someone? Many? people to come up with
the large amount of money we need to go ahead. We can easily meet the
needs of many more in Payatas with a larger base of operations or we can
literally become a street Church that can not meet in the rainy season!

EDUCATION

We now have an adult English class and we are tutoring in
our home one of our young ladies who slipped through the cracks and has
been out of school for some years. The progress is terrific and we
anticipate great results as the Lord’s hand has been upon every
ministry.

We also have started to raise the $500 or so we need for
Laura and Linda’s new school books/course. We received our first
donation of $24 from a Kids Bible study group. We don’t mention names on
here but I am very proud of you kids. Thanks.

BAPTISM

For those who do not understand the Baptist way, we never
force someone here to be baptized. They have to make that decision based
on what they read and understand. As a matter of fact, they come to us
when they are ready and are baptized. This week Andrei, who has been
with us for a few years now, wanted to be baptized. After speaking with
him to make sure he really knew what it was all about, we did. It was
beautiful. Look here

OUTREACH

Every thing we do here at PBC, shows Christ to everyone.
every ministry works to that end. We have an average of 50 people door
knocking every Saturday morning. We have visitation teams reaching out
to the community and each and every members normal daily life includes
sharing the Gospel when asked for the reason for the hope that is within
them!

MUSIC

We now have 26 active music students. A couple have just
been eligible for a free guitar. (Mo’money) Six little ones have started
learning the recorder. The recorders were donated by a generous friend
in Makati. Our services come even more alive as our music includes
flutes and violins, guitars and ukeleles along with the keyboard. We
anticipate 6 little ones adding to our musical group with their
recorders.

VACATION

After almost six years here, the family has just taken a
vacation!!! YAY!!! Okay so it was three days and the first and third day
were mostly driving but it did classify as a vacation. We brought our
Deacon to see his family in Bataan. We were just so happy to get away.
