Hi everyone, we have closed out the year so very pleased at the things God has done.

A group of our kids went to the youth conference at Community Bible Baptist Church in Quezon City. They had a wonderful time in the Lord.

Everyone had a great time at the youth conference. Even, many of our adults went to chaperon and supervise. (Yeah right, they went to have fun) I had to miss it as I banged my leg and could hardly walk. It is getting better each day.

Our medical clinic is growing more and more and we are reaching so many souls with the Gospel. More of our Church members have been volunteering their time to witness to the patients.

It is getting so crowded that yesterday everyone had to take their lunch an hour later. Pray as we seek to open more clinics in the future.

Our Church is also growing as we baptized around ten in the last two Sundays. We also need more workers for the children and please continue to pray for the Payatas Baptist Compound as our Church can not grow any more for lack of room.

Our new approach to door knocking has netted many converts and our people are so very enthusiastic about soul winning.

Next Week we will be going to the transportation hub of Payatas to flood that place with the Gospel.

One couple in our Church just delivered a baby girl and they told me they will bring her on Sunday to the Church that changed their lives. (I hope they meant our Church! ?)

As I write, my wife is going through the bureaucracy to get my legal authorization to solemnize marriages. We have three couples already waiting for that to happen.

The girls are doing great. My wife is my right arm and is doing well. Laura will soon be graduating to fourth grade at six years old. Lind reminds me of me at that age. Please pray!

God Bless you all and we pray you have a wonderful Christmas wherever you are.

November Update 2008 Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Yesterday we had our second anniversary of the incorporation of the Church. […]

November Update 2008

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,

Yesterday we had our second anniversary of the incorporation of the Church. There was approximately 300 people who shared all or part of the day with us. That is about 100 more than last year!

Our theme was expand our Coasts from the prayer of Jabez.

Our children sang, recited scripture and our adults gave wonderful testimonies of how their lives had been changed do to God using our church to lead them to Him.

We had two giant Lechons, (roast pig) and plenty of food. My good friend Pastor Reuel Palit ang brought the message and our one and only Missionary Dicusin taught the Sunday School. We had guest singers and we had a blessed day in the Lord.

Sister Malou must have eaten too much as she was sick this morning but despite being sick she went off to our medical clinic to witness to the patients. Malou is celebrating her 34th birthday today.

Our landlady has built walls and gates around our property and it is really looking good. Keep checking, the photos may be up by the time you get this. http://www.escobia225.multiply.com/photos We have over 3000 photos already!

We also were able to get the man who was making the walls to build us a baptismal! Our first baptisms should be held this Sunday.

Our Church has reached the breaking point. We need more room. Yesterday we were bringing the youth down the road to a covered area to make room for the adults in the church. Our Sundays are full as well as our Wednesday nights. Please pray for the Payatas Baptist Compound to happen.

This is a shorter news letter as we just sent a double issue a few weeks ago.

I would ask you to pray real hard for this election in the U.S. I have never felt such a eerie feeling about a candidate before in my life. The Bible talks about people being blinded and not seeing the truth. That is so true today. I have had people angry at me for saying Oprah was no good while anyone can get quotes right from her mouth where she declare those foolish who follow the cross of Christ.

Take a look at this video and then pass it along:http://usawakeup.org/USSA.htm

God bless you all and have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Pastor Jack, Malou, Laura and Linda

Tragedy struck and hit my computer blowing the motherboard and although I was able to borrow the money and buy a new computer, my mailing list […]

Tragedy struck and hit my computer blowing the motherboard and although I was able to borrow the money and buy a new computer, my mailing list was trapped on the hard drive. Long story but we are now back in gear.

We have had a fantastic couple of months starting with our medical mission which ministered to about 1000 men, women and children. We fed them all, ministered to them medically (including minor surgeries) and presented each one with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We had hundreds of professions of faith.

The blessings continued as I was presented with an air-conditioner for my office (Man that’s cool!) for as they said, “””doing a good job in organizing the event””.

There were ten Korean doctors and two filipino dentists. We even had a pop corn machine and a cotton candy machine and face painting! It was wonderful. People were approaching me thanking me for the ministry. I mean someone who had three teeth pulled was thanking me and all I wanted to say was Sorry! It was such a blessing.

Click here to see the photos: http://escobia225.multiply.com/photos/album/70

Here is and interesting story to show how God works: I was relaxing at home when I heard a screech and a loud bang. I rushed outside to discover a tricycle (motorized taxi type) had just crashed into my gate. To make a long story short the wife came and said they would pay for the repairs. Some time went by and the repairs weren’t quite finished so my wife and I dropped by their house. They were neighbors only two blocks away from us. The woman cam out holding her baby and the baby had a cleft palette. I told her, “””Would you like to get that fixed”” and of course she was thrilled. I called my partner in our Medical Mission and he contacted someone we had met from England and again to make a long story short, they agreed to operate on the baby absolutely no charge!

The Two Faces of Nicole

We had some visitors from Kew Baptist Church in Australia. Paul, Laura and Anna came and interviewed us for a production they are doing on the poor in Payatas. We became close fast. They were able to go to the clinic and take a tour of Payatas and we had the pleasure of Anna staying at our home a couple of days. We really enjoyed their company and hopefully their production will direct some hearts to help support the mission here. I am doubly excited as Laura had offered to professionally redo my video and so soon we will have a nice video up on the website.

http:www.//escobia225.multiply.com/photos/album/72/The_Austrailians_are_coming_2008-10-18

Even though my computer quit, God didn’t. Through the experience I started getting into reading more and searching the scriptures harder using all my books. It was a good learning experience and a challenge to let go of the computer a bit.

I got a call from Missionary Roger Riley. He said he had 80,000 tracts and gospels of John/Romans if I could get to Batangas to pick them up. I have no vehicle and my connections were dry so I texted him and told him I would have to decline the offer. I sulked a bit but then told God that I know He didn’t offer me this material to tease me and that I believe He would make a way. Soon after I received a call that Brother Riley would not only come and deliver the material himself but he would preach the service that Sunday! Praise God. I got all those materials and a day off.

Brother Riley showed up with another Missionary named Allan and they were both such a blessing. He also brought me four boxes of N.T.’s printed in Tagalog.

The next day after they left I got another text. “”””Do you need some Bibles?”” “”Yes, I just ran out””””. Meet me in Quezon City at eight o’clock””. I did and he gave me two cases of Bibles, other witnessing tools and a donation. This man depends on his support and he was blessing my ministry. That says much for him.

I have been teaching the members how to present the Gospel plus they have been getting hands on training at the clinic so we just started door knocking a different way. Armed with out Gospel of John/Romans I sent out the teams two by two. I don’t speak Tagalog so I took a group and distributed tracts while the groups went to each house. Fourteen people prayed the sinners prayer and were invited to Church. In each team we have a trainer and a trainee so within a few weeks we will double our teams!

One member of our Church was complaining that he thought he should find another place to live because he was surrounded by Jehovah’s Witnesses. I suggested that this may be the reason that God placed him there in the first place. I gave him a book about the cults and his next report was he is now sharing the word with them and they are listening!

Next Month on November 2nd we will be celebrating our second anniversary. Starting at Sunday School an 9am we will go until 3pm+ so if you are near us, feel free to stop by.

As you are well aware, Christmas is coming and it is at this time giving drops. As a matter of fact, since we have been here we have lost $610 per month in support. With an income of just a hair over $1000 per month to finance our home and our Church, that’s a tough cut. Fortunately, we picked up $630 per month which puts us back to where we started.

So, I would ask to remember us as we serve here. Not so much even for Malou and I but for the kids.

Laura has quickly attacked her 3rd grade level books and is well on the way to reaching 4th grade! SIX YEARS OLD! Can you tell that I am proud? One of our dear supporters sent us (among other things) a bunch of brand new classic books in which Laura took to immediately. She is going through each one. I am so happy for her education. This supporter also gave me a bread machine and as I am writing this letter I am making bread. I love my bread machine. Also, I had been asking God for a scanner. I told no one else and when the box came, in the bottom was a brand new scanner! God hears all and answers all.

We are praying for you all every week that all is going well with you and your lives. We are also praying for next month’s election.

God has a plan and we will not be caught unaware.

God bless you all as you follow Him closely.

It seems the whole world is turning upside down. Gas prices are out of control, the government is stepping in to try to save over a million Americans from losing their homes. There are hurricanes and typhoons and flooding and fires and it is getting that many see no where to turn.

Thank God for Jesus Christ. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Last Sunday we had a terrible typhoon and many died because of it. The brunt of it was at the coast (about 1 hour away) but we had our fair share of trouble.

Last Sunday we had a terrible typhoon and many died because of it. The brunt of it was at the coast (about 1 hour away) but we had our fair share of trouble..

I decided to take my motorcycle to go to Church as it was Sunday morning and I need to be the example for my members. I drove as the wind blew me back and forth. As I was going through the mountains I met a man fixing his bike and so I pulled over to ask if he needed help. He greeted ma saying Hi Pastor Jack although I didnt recognize him, he said he would be fine. I continued around a downed tree and came across a lake in the middle of the road. I saw two motorcycle riders, one on each side of the road. Both had their arms folded and was waiting for something. (Perhaps for Moses to part the sea) anyway I waved to them, asked God to get me across and proceeded through the water. It was high enough that even I had my feet up, my rear end got wet but God got me through. He is faithful even though half my Church wasnt.

I told my church that the Tagalog word for Typhoon was “excuse” It is also used in many other cases.

We had no electric at Church but we had a nice candlelight service and those who came were blessed.

Prices are still going up. People are waiting in line to get Government rice and some of our supporters have stopped supporting us as their congregations have cut back on their giving. So, we have decided to take on our first Missionary and so in one year Pastor Dicusin and family will be going to the mission field and I told them we would start supporting them two months before they leave. In the meantime we have a large can and we have started taking up a collection for them every week so when they leave we will be able to give them a blessing.

Someone once said, When things get tough give more we believe that too. Things getting tough are a challenge from God to test our faithfulness. We want to be found faithful.

Blessings come in different ways. Someone gave us an air conditioner which was large enough to do the main room. We hooked up electric and built a stand and plugged it in and it didnt work! One of our members father is an A/C man and he told us it would be 5,500 pesos to replace the compressor, plus another couple hundred pesos to put the Freon in. That killed that. I told him we would do it if and when we got the money. The other day my wife saw him with a compressor. He said he got a 2000 peso discount on it and we can pay when we have it. Praise God! He always provides even when it doesnt seem that way.

Malou is actually having fun doing her laundry in the machine! What a blessing. Next time you put a load of clothes into the washing machine, take a second and thank God you dont have to do them by hand!

We are reaching more people everyday all over Payatas. Please remember to pray for our vision to build the Payatas Baptist Compound. We are looking to being able to provide a good Christian education to the children here as well as a medical facility and a very large Church! Pray! I feel its coming soon.

Last Saturday, as we were just about to leave to go door knocking, a group of Jehovah Witnesses went by. I ran back inside the Church and grabbed a pile of J.W. tracts and tried to give them out to them but they would not accept them. One man said, If its not from the Watchtower, I wont read it. What a shame, he didnt say if it wasnt in the Bible but if it wasnt in the Watchtower.

We went behind them and gave out the tracts to those they spoke with and so later on I got a call at the office from one of the J.W.s. He started giving me Scripture to prove Jesus wasnt God but for every one he gave I was able to show him how it proved Jesus is God. Finally he said he had to go. I think he just gave up. I invited him to Church. I hope he comes.

We pray for you all each week and hope to find you all well in the Lord as you continue to serve Him..

God Bless,

Another month of blessings has come and gone and we are here to give the report.

Malou has been washing clothes with a scrub board (you young ones will have to ask someone older what that is) for the past two years. This morning I got an email from one of our supporting Churches that they were sending a generous donation above their monthly support, for our household needs.

Praise God! I will now get a new set of golf clubs!

Only kidding, Malou gets the washing machine.

Also, thanks to the generosity of another dear supporter, I now have my permanent status as a resident of the Philippines. Not only that but I now have my drivers license and am working on registration renewal on my motorcycle.

The medical clinic is still doing well where many have made professions of faith. One woman didnt accept Jesus at the clinic but asked if Malou could visit her at her house and so Malou led her to the Lord at that time.

Our young people have now taken an interest in going to the medical clinic to witness and hand out tracts. It is exciting to see these teenagers as they get involved for Christ.

Our Church members are getting jobs and doing well as they put the principles of Jesus first to work. Please pray as we have two people who lost their jobs because they refused to work on Sunday. Pray that God will bless them beyond their dreams to show the others that putting God first has its rewards.

I hope you all got a chance to see the artistic project in which we were involved. Boysen paint in Quezon City donated the paint and we painted the gospel message on the wall across from the Church. (Click on the photo link below) Now our artist has been getting other jobs from those who have seen his work. Getting work here in Payatas is really a blessing as many cant even buy rice.

The Church is growing; more people are attending the Men and Womens fellowships. Every first Sunday we have pot luck. Tithing is going up and we are praying to have the strongest Church in the world! (If God gives us the strength.)

I was in a bit of an accident with the bike last week. A tricycle driver pulled in front of me without looking, to get a fare and so I crashed into the back of him. I think the guy was going to try to blame me but when he saw the crowd that gathered, helping me up and asking, Pastor Jack are you okay, he realized that all the people knew me. I let him go because he didnt look like he could buy supper let alone pay for the bike to be fixed. Anyway, it turned out well as it only cost 500peso to repair. Thats about $12. In America they would have sold me a new bike!

We had a visitor from Holland the other day and so one of my members and myself took him and his companion on a motorcycle tour of the garbage dump. Ill tell you this, it is a trip they will never forget.

Malou is doing great and is such a blessing to me and this Church. She is considered the top witnesser (is that a word?) at the clinic.

The girls are doing terrific. Laura has her third grade studies now and is handling them with no problems. It is such a pleasure to watch her participate in the singing at Church and like her father, she has a lot of hand gestures and faces. She really gets into it.

Linda is counting to twelve and can even read some letters. At two years old she knows the names of more animals than I do.

Keep praying for us as we continue to pray for all of you.

God bless you and keep you until next month,

I am thoroughly convinced that no matter what, if we obey Him He will bless us.

The economic crisis in America does not have to be felt by Christians. I know many that still have good jobs and are paying their bills. I believe that reason is because they put God first and they refused to compromise.

If you have put Him first in prayer (not whining but praising) every morning, are reading His word and are doing His will, you have nothing to fear.

Our support has been down. Some have stopped giving, some have cut the support down, the exchange rate is bad, yet others have come forth with even larger gifts, and new supporters have come on board. God is in charge of this operation and it has been thrilling to watch Him work.

We had our second Vacation Bible School and you can go to http://www.escobia225.multiply.com/photos and see about six hundred wonderful photos of the best VBS (out of two) so far! We broke last years record with 107 children.

Through the generosity of a supporter, we were able to send 15 kids along with my wife, to Word of Life camp in Laguna in which many photos of that event is on file.

We just began the month, May 1st, Labor Day with a wonderful Church excursion to Monicas resort where we had a wonderful baptism service and a day of fun. (Photos soon to be up)

We have received Bibles from Cross Ministries and as I write I have been informed that there are three boxes waiting at the post office (which I expect are more Bibles) and another couple of boxes on their way from supporters. We received 100,000 Tracts from the generosity of Precious Seed Ministry. And a few more thousand are on there way from Fellowship Tract League.

These are the tools of our trade that God is so generously supplying.

It seems the less money we receive the more we are blessed! (Dont get the idea to help us to be blessed by not sending though!

I have been starting to feel the pressure of working without rest. Except for about four or five Mondays, I have not taken off since we came here almost two years ago. With no money to take a rest, I just kept praying. God sent another missionary who said God gave him me as a mission and he is taking me to the beach for three days!

It is not easy here by a long shot, but souls are always being saved and people are being ministered to. If this was a money making corporation we would be in the fortune 500 for lives changed!

We still need a washing machine, stove and a vehicle for the family. Our big prayer item will be the ability within the next year to visit our family in the U.S. as well as our supporters. Please pray for us to that end.

You are all in our prayers, your well being is important to us and we would love to hear from you.

May God bless you as you unselfishly do His will.

Ptr Jack & Malou Wilson, Linda and Laura say Hi!

April Showers bring May flowers?

Everything is backwards here; we get our rain in June. Then it will flood! Right now I just finished my Sunday morning service and it is 97.3 degrees in front of the fans. It doesnt feel that bad though. In California the dry heat was very uncomfortable. Sweating is good for the soul!

Through the generosity of one of our supporters, our children are once again going to camp in Laguna.

We were able to take 15 children and Malou will go as a Chaperone for the girls and Brother Mike as a chaperone for the boys. It is so difficult to decide which child will go and which child will stay. Of course we would send them all if we were able but God has given us what He has given.

The harder part is it costs 5000 pesos for transportation which seriously cuts into operating costs.

Please pray for our upcoming VBS. We are so excited. Last year was such a success and we hope this year to be even better! Pray that the new children will continue in coming out to Church even after VBS is over.

The other day Linda (my two year old started singing to me, Thy word, What a thrill to hear this little one so seriously sing Gods praises.

Laura is such a good little helper around the house. She is going into the third grade already. Pray that we can receive her schoolbooks soon so that she can continue her education.

We had a great Resurrection Sunday but even better was our good Friday service. We shared scripture and the Church spent time together in prayer. Btw, all of you were included in our prayers.

The waiting shed that we have been trying to talk the government into supplying for us will be signed for by Mayor Belmonte (we are told) on April 15th as he is out of the Country. We certainly appreciate his help in making that happen for us.

We have been faithfully door knocking and the last three times we ran into the Jehovahs Witnesses. They have no answer when we present the scripture to them and they like to leave the area fast when we show up. We pray that they will get saved and become faithful witnesses for the one true God.

We have received more Bibles and study materials and we are waiting on tracts. We need thousands of tracts as we continue to flood the area with the written word.

We just started (last month) having pot luck after the service on the first of the month. It is so nice to eat together as a real family of God.

The members of our Church are starting to prosper as they have been following the Lord. They have been getting good jobs, and are generally healthy and happy. This is a place where there is no work but for Gods people, it is no hard thing for God to do.

Please continue to pray for us as we continue to pray for you.

They say March comes in like a Lion and goes out like a lamb.

For us here in Payatas we pray that it will come in as the Lion of the tribe of Judah and goes out as the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world!

Excitement is the word used to describe this ministry. I have a friend who is building a Church in Payatas and he asked me if it would be alright if he built a medical clinic and we were to go in and run the operation. It would be the same as renting the building only we would not be charged rent.

Of course I said yes. So we will be able to have a medical clinic in area B under the banner of GodsGrace Medical Assistance, Inc. We will operate it identically as the first one with the exception that we will have no operating costs other than staff. Wonderful! God is always proving Himself as the one who makes things happen.

In the past month we have had many professions of faith, Our Church is growing to the point that we are praying harder (and we ask your prayers also) so we can have the Payatas Baptist Compound. (http://1ph.org/pmo/proposed_plans.htm)

We are in preparation for the upcoming VBS. Last year I believe we had about 80 kids and this year we hope to have at least that if not more. Please pray that each child will understand the Gospel message that will be portrayed throughout each session. We dont worry about them having fun, they always do.

I would like to share with you a testimony of our Church because I understand many in the U.S. are undergoing financial difficulty.

We have a man and woman who were saved in our Church over a year ago. They, like many Filipinos here, worried more about their finances then God. In other words, if they had an opportunity to work, even on Sunday or the times that we meet together, they would choose to go to work. I teach here that God is the center of our existence and that if we put Him first, He will supply our needs. (He promised us that) After much encouragement, these two decided to follow God rather than money. Today, these two are the ones that others come to when they are in need. God has prospered their loyalty.

Now how about you? Is your Church suffering? Remember that God has promised that He will not leave, nor forsake us. Our support is up to $1,100 per month but most of the time we dont get near that. I tell you that not because of us but because of you. If you are having difficulty like that, its time to focus on our priority. I am convinced that God will keep us here and make a way where there seems no way. I will not look to the left or to the right but my sight will be set on high.

Each month God has sent miracle gifts that has helped us along with our supporters to carry us through. He will provide seed to the sower as you allow Him to do it.

Thanks so much for your love and support. I want to say many thanks to those who remembered us at Christmas and the kids birthdays as well as Malou and I. Your thoughtfulness as given us much needed items that we would not have without your love.

God Bless,
Pastor Jack & Malou Laura and Linda too!

The months are flying by.

February 1st, 2008 I am trying to get used to writing 2008. Gee, I just got used to writing 2007. Well, it goes fast when you are keeping busy.

February as all the other months has been no exception.

We keep receiving new Bibles thanks to the generosity of Cross Ministries and Beams Bibles. It is such a blessing as our people have no way to afford such a luxury. We also are receiving tracts as we give thousands out each month.

We have increased our visitation and it is such a blessing to see the responses we get from people who did not believe we would visit them. There is a problem here as well in all Countries of people who say one thing yet do another. We must be on our guard to make sure what comes out of our mouths is the truth.

The area where our Church is located on Litex road. The opposite side of the road is a 8 high wall with some dirt area in front and then the actual street. It is a filthy area that the government had imbedded tires on end and put some planters to try to make it look better but people manage to litter and make the area unattractive. So, some of the members of the Church took on the project of beautifying the area directly across from the Church. This just started and already they have made a difference. I applied to the government for a waiting shed (a protective awning so people can wait for transportation out of the rain) and it looks like we will get it. We will post before and after photos when it all happens. The idea behind it, is when people see we care for the community, they will want to know us better and perhaps, act better themselves.

We thought we were going to have to pay $175 for Lauras school curriculum but we were surprised to find out it will be free! Praise Him. Also, little Linda (age 2) is now praying before meals sometimes even without prompting and she says please and thank you.

Please continue to pray for our vision (see link below) and I hope you were able to drop by our new website and also to see the over 1000 photos of the work here. (links also below)

We were going to open up a second medical clinic in San Mateo but the Holy Spirit closed that door. We are now looking to open one right near the Church. Please pray that we will be able to find a good location.

Hundreds have professed the Lord through the clinics, The Men and woman fellowships and our outreach programs. Please pray for our goal of reaching all 212,000 residents of Payatas.

Pray for our second VBS coming up in April and our Baptisms coming in March.

Thanks to those who sent money toward my permanent Visa. We are still in need of about 21,000 pesos (about $500) to finish it.

I know most missionaries would like to subtly tell you they need help but I am not like that. Here is todays bank statement: $.034 (yes, 34 cents)

So if you are looking for ways to help go to the donate link below and get your credit/debit card and

Also, we have just put up our video on You Tube. Please visit and take a look. It is a rough cut and will be replaced with something more professional and even the words will be spelled right but you will see what is going on here.

God bless you all as you are a blessing. Ill write you again next month.

By His Grace,
