PBC and JESUS

Working for Him

When I was in the states, our Christmas started at least after Thanksgiving. As a child we started it at Christmas Eve as my father, brother and I would go down to Fulton Street so Pop could negotiate the price of a tree down to $5.
Here, mainly because of my Linda, it started in October when she asked me if she could decorate the house. I said, “Why not?” And she did.
We started watching Christmas movies and buying our gifts on line so we are not overwhelmed at the last minute. The feeling of Christmas was all throughout the house. That feeling that I really did not experience since I was a kid, came back.
So, C’mon. Get your Christmas on. Play the movies and the music. Buy the gifts so you are not overwhelmed at the last minute. Maybe even bake some cookies. Let’s share the coming of that Christmas babe, together._______________________________________________________________________________

2022 YOUTH RALLY @ Community Bible Baptist Church
Every year Pastor Panginiban invites our Church to the youth rally along with many other Churches.
Last time there was a contest to create a ministry video. Our Church won for most Biblical.
This year we sent in a music video and we came in #2
We pray that one day we can have a large enough compound that we can return their generosity.

Our students have been encouraged to progress in their studies.
5 children received P100 each for 80 and above
2 High School students received a Jollibee meal for 85 and above
2 College students got 90% and up

July makes me think of freedom. It makes me think of all the freedom America has. However freedom has brought with it many consequences.

For example, there is now the freedom of abortion, homosexuality, teaching debauchery in schools.
Imagine, we can not yell fire in a crowded theatre but we can spew foul language at will, in public.
We can not speak to the right but the left is welcome.
So the question I will ask you, Do you long to be free?
Even with the new society and all its ills, John 8:36 says- If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
If you don’t know Jesus, call on Him and ask for salvation and if you do know Him, ask for peace and to please secure you in His Freedom!

ANNIVERSARIES

We have two anniversaries. The 1st is July 21st, we arrived in Manila 15 years ago.
The 2nd is Malou and I were married July 31,
22 years ago.
We are blessed!

Feeding at PBC

We have been feeding the hildren for over ten years now andd it has improved each year. We have a wonderful Bible study with the feeding and the children are blessed.

EDUCATION @ PBC

We work hard to educate our children. First with Biblical knowledge and second with Academics topped off with music both the reading of and playing of an instrument.
We offer an incentive. Children 12 years old and below with all 80’s and better will receive P100 ($2 U.S.)
13 years old and up with a straight 85% across the board gets a Jollibee meal.
Those with 95% across the board gets a Kenny Rogers meal.
It works! I bet we have tthe smartest kids in town.

College & Car Fund

Most of you already know, we are trying to raise money for a car. If we would have used our own money for that purpose over the years, we would have been able to buy three new cars. However we chose to buy junk cars and use our personal money for ministry.
Now I am mostly blind in one eye an either have my wife or daughter drive. They need a safe automatic. We have about $1,400 but as we researche a new car is out of reach so we need $2k or so for a down payment for maybe a 3-4 year old car.

Another problem is the college Fund. We have about $448 in that fund.
School starts this Monday and as of now, the students we were able to send last year have no means to make it this year.

We do not know God’s will for this but we are depending on Him. Please pray for these two important projects. (School first)

NOTE: Some have sent money for the car and some sent for college and ssome we divided between the two when it was not mentioned however whatever you designated funds for it will only be used for that purpose.

OUTREACH!

We have resumed outreach to the community. Regular visitation and two by two where we set up 10 week Bible studies in the people’s homes. We bring a small bag of rice when we visit. We now have about 7 additional members of men and women who visit. All together we have a force of about 15 who visit.

I recently had a conversation with someone who attacked me every time I said something that was pro- right. I wanted to have a rational conversation but there are some that have been programmed and can not change

Sometimes Christians get this way. They do things because of indoctrination. Micah is trying to say, It is not about your sacrifices that will cleanse you.

Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God. If you think that needs an interpretation, you should go into your closet and call upon God for answers.

It’s very empty with out our Church kids. Please pray that we will be back to normal very soon.

Payatas Baptist Church meets now on Sunday but no children can come.

So our job now is to raise funds to help feed our members, children’s families and some close neighbors. Our people now go shopping, sort food back at the Church and each goes out to distribute food.
In each bag there is a tract and they share the Gospel as they go.
People see Jesus in all of this so if you have been giving, you are not just feeding people but you are feeding them with the Gospel as well as allowing them to see Jesus in all of this.

We have Wednesda night services using Zoom. There is still a curew so we need to get off the street at night.
Our Sunday service is the same except the evening service is at 4pm.
Pray for this to stop!

We can use your help. Our supporters have been wonderful. The only problem is when you eat the food, it’s gone and you need more.
Pretend you have an extra mouth to feed in your family and each one feed one.

THINGS ACCOMPLISHED (Click on any blue link)

We have done much this past month. Many thanks to our supporters who made it happen.

BUILDING PROJECT

#1 As you know we are building a two family house for some poor people. We have raised $ thousands for that effort. Some people giving multiple times. Well, all we need is $130 to finish. I pray that all who call themselves our friends will help out with a gift of $5 or more. This way you can say you helped build a house for poor Christians in Payatas!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

#2 We had a very successful VBS with many children returning who have not been to Church before. Our teams will follow up by visiting their families. Please pray that many will be saved through this.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

#3 Educational Ministry. We just handed out a lot of school supplies to many children who would not have had it unless we gave it. This year we did not have to solicit donations as many of our supporters gave money and boxes of supplies on their own. I added a little from my Social Security and that was that. A great time was had by all and all heard the Gospel in many different ways during the week.#4 Because of our dear friends in Canada we were able to help out our Widows with some cash which will help them a lot. We also received cash for the building and the VBS and the feeding ministry. #5 Finally, my eyes are accomplished! The second eye is slowly focusing better each day. I don’t need glasses except I might need them for reading. We will see how much they clear up. Once again our hearts go out to our supprters who have helped us to accomplish great things for God!

God uses the support of others to empower missions

Our duty is to minister to each other. We have
people in need of a place to live. They live in
pieced together shanties with rats and dirt floors.

The answer, build them a house. But how? We
had a section of the family plot and so we gave
that to build the house on.Then the miracle
happened. People gave and we built. The house
will have the roof on by Saturday. After that we
need to do the inside. Doors,tiles,sinks,bowls and
windows as well as painting. We can do all that
for about $2,000. Will you help?

Support is circular. When others support us, we support others. We build a house, have a 7 day a week feeding program, teach music (over 63 instruments played) Take care of our Senior Citizens filing for their Senior citizen cards, Phil Health, Pension cards, and Social Security. Our Seniors are not neglected. Our educational ministry is unsurpassed as far as Churches go. Our children have increased their grades constantly. BTW, Laura just graduated H.S. and Linda,Elementary school. Please pray for them as they continue their studies. Laura will be taking her entrance exam to the University of the Philippines on Apr 6^th. I am looking forward to a professional violinist in the family.

All in all we depend on our supporters to exist and those we help depend on us to thrive but of course, we all depend on our God who puts it in the hearts of people to help each other.

A New Year – A New Work
Any work that does not re-invent it self on a regular basis goes stale. That also applies to the work of the Lord. We have people in desparate need of safe, secure housing and so we are building a two story house. The bottom is for a Senior citizen and the top is for a lady with six children.

EDUCATION MINISTRYOur education ministry begins and ends with teaching the word of God.

Our little ones are already sharing the word with their friends. They are also growing in their secular studies. As we evaluate report cards, most of them have improved greatly over the previous semester.

We also re-enrolled two college students in F.E.U.. One is in the 4th year and the other is in the third year.

BLESSINGS

God really has been blessing and He continues. We have received boxes from all over the U.S. and Canada.
VFNKB leads the way. In about a year and a half they have sent 36 boxes. We are overwhelmed with their love for us .

Paul said that he became all things to all people. In other words he did all he could to show the word of God.
We recently was able to get a couple of our Senior ladies, Phil health cards which will certainly help their health expenses.

We also obtain I.D. requirements as well as all sorts of documents as the need arises.

Into each life a little rain will fall.

Just when I was about finished with my car
THIS…

A garbage truck trying to make it up the hill while making a wide turn, couldn’t and started going back. The driver hit his brakes but because he had bald tires it slid back into my car. The good news! No one was in the car.

November 2017 Update

My Christmas recollections.

Christmas for me, has many great memories. As a small child in Brooklyn, I couldn’t wait for my father to take us to get the tree. He would wait until Christmas Eve in hopes of getting the best deal. I remember him arguing about the tree costing $5. He, my brother and I would then carry it home and decorate it. Mom was in charge of the tinsel because the men were sloppy. Pop put the lights up and the star on top and we kids would put all the decorations and candy canes on the tree.
God gave us a great family. That night we would sing songs and my favorite was silent night. Never did I think that I would eventually get saved, become a missionary Pastor and move to a place without snow.
Even still, we have a wonderful Christmas with the Church and at home with the family. We are making memories praising the One responsible for the season.

CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR 100 KIDS!

On December 16th we will have our 11th annual Christmas party for 100 poor kids in Payatas.
Each year we give 100 kids a PBC shirt, a pair of pants for the boys and a skirt or dress for the girls. They also get footwear, toys, games, prizes and a nourishing hot meal with desert. When we can afford it, we send a small bag of groceries to each home for their own Christmas dinner.

This wonderful time is provided by the generosity of our friends and supporters.

We have a new supporter from Florida who God has led to send us many boxes with clothes and food and things from soap to toothbrushes. What a blessing!

EDUCATION The report card time is here and we are so thrilled with the results shown by the students we have been teaching. The grades are going higher and higher. Praise God!
We have one student going into the 3rd year of college, one going into the 2nd year. Two more are going in this coming year and a few more the following year. Our 20 year plan is working!

Our Annual Sports fest

Our church had their annual sports fest where they had all kinds of competitions as well as good food and bonding. We have a loving family Church who enjoys being with each other.

Housing for the poor

We are trying to raise $5,000 to buy land on which we can eventually build mini housing for a couple of our poor. We have about half of it already.

October 2017 update

	GOD IS GOOD!
Hi! Do you consider that phrase (God is Good) a cliche’? Is it tiring for you? Do you hear it too many times and it is getting on your nerves? Perhaps your relationship with God needs to be a bit closer. I never tire of saying God is Good because everytime I turn around He is blessing us in some way.Do you have peace, joy, happiness? These are things money can’t buy yet if you have these and no money, you need nothing else. Focus on loving and appreciating God today to see what I mean. The rest of you already know!
	Mini houses for the poor. We are attempting our most ambitious fund raiser ever. We have people in our Church who live in bad conditions. There is a piece of property which we can buy for P250,000 ($5,000) in which we can we can build 4-6 mini houses. 	Music: One day God told me to start a music ministry. I told Him that I can barely read music, have a terrible voice and can’t play an instrument. He answered and said that I would be fine. So we did.Every day we have more and more interest in music. It brings the kids together in worship and in discipline. We just bought two new ukeleles and four new recorders! MORE GOD IS GOOD STUFF: Our Anniversary: Our 11th Anniversary will be on the first week of November. Pray for the strength of the Church to continue and to grow the way that is in the mind of God. Christmas Party: Our annual Christmas party for the kids will be December 16. We already have our friends and supporters in N.C. offer to donate the groceries for 100 kids. If you would like to give to this worthy cause:

Lost Supporter: We lost one $50 supporter because he felt he could not support a conservative. If you think Conservatives are ok or more important, if you think the Payatas kids don’t know the difference, please take up the gap.
God wants us all to stand for what is good and right no matter what the consequence.OUR SUPPORTERS:We love you and pray for you daily. Thanks for all you do and may God bless you as you bless others!

Eleven Years Serving God In Payatas

When you hear , “It seems like yesterday”, it is a pretty accurate statemement if you are enjoying the work.

People say to us that we must be really something to give our lives to this mission in this place. I would like to polish my chest and stand there beaming but the truth is, when you are doing God’s will, there is no other option. Rather they should say, “Imagine if you disobeyed the call of God, where you might be now?”

We love it. We love arriving at Church early and many kids are there already. We love how they come with their school stuff to show us how well they are doing. We love going out with a large crowd to bring the Gospel to the community. We love to see the church grow. We love to see the commitment of our adults. All in all, I feel a bit guilty about having so much fun. Praise God!

Laura & Linda have the funds needed for their schooling.

Thanks to all that supported this effort. We pray that the girls will grow stronger and stronger. How they progress is because of your help.
We are now waiting for A.C.E. to process everything.

We also enrolled two new kids in school with out birth certificates. Now we were able to get them.

Employment

One of the priorities in an impovereshed area (Other than Salvation) is gainfull employment. Our people are obtaining above average jobs and are doing well in them. One by one as they practice the rule that God blesses those who are obedient to Him, they have had incredible blessings along with the rest of the Church.

Please keep our Compound in your prayers.

One more request: Please keep me in your prayers. I just had lab work done and my numbers for diabetes are out of sight. I am committing to a strict diet.

April 2017 Update

No matter if you call it Easter or Resurrection Sunday the result is the same. It is the memory of Christ raised from the tomb and those who put their faith in Him are saved.

How can we insult such a beautiful and sacrificial gift by not doing our best to serve Him. We should live for Christ. Not only on holidays or Sundays but every day of our lives. We owe Him a debt we can never repay but we should let our lives shine as a constant thank you, to our Lord.

WE ARE ON VACATION – YAY!

I am sitting here in Piddig in the province of Illocos Norte. It is on the upper Northern part of the Philippines (about a 4 hour boat ride to Taiwan

It is my first vacation in ten years. There is no Disneyland, No night life, no ATM’s , no
TV at the house where we are staying. I can get the internet but my desire to be on it has diminished. This is what I call a really refreshing vacation. So peaceful.

Recently our Photo site owner announced that they sold out and now we have transferred to Smugmug.com. It is another hurdle to jump as they moved all the photos but we have the job of putting them in order according to date. So, we will not be giving a link to the photos untill we get it all done.

PREACHING IN PIDDIG

I finished preaching in a wonderful Church here namely Piddig Christian Baptist Church. We had a good time and good food and the people are wonderful. May God touch their hearts with the message God brought.

Passover/ Communion

This month we had the pleasure of having a combination Communion Sunday / Passover celebration. What a good experience with the Passover showing God’s plan for our redemption and the communion, remembering that redemption. We were all blessed on that day.

SPORTS FEST

Something new we added to our Church this year is Sports fest. It is a day of sports games by the whole Church including the little ones.
Over 40 of our people participated in this day of fun and exercise
as usual, our people gave out tracts and witnessed to the outsiders.

VBS

We had a wonderful VBS. The children heard the word of God through crafts, skits,pupet shows, teaching and games. Even though we only raised half of the $200 we needed, I was able to use some of my vacation money to make it up.Thanks to those who gave and/or prayed.

EDUCATION

Our children, Laura and Linda have just graduated 10th and 7th grade respectively. Both having an “A” average.

Our two College students moved on to their 2nd year. Nicole is studying for CPA and she just got a scholarship.
Anne Christine has just made the qualification for a scholarship , also.
All our children in the Elementery and High School levels have all done well and are up from last year.
