Waiting for the Corinthians |
||
|
When I first made our websites, some people said that we should not have a donation link. It was a new thing but for a Missionary to survive they need donations. Many promised to give before we left but after, did not. So I questioned that turning to God for my answer. He directed me to 2Cor Ch8. Paul was among the Macedonia Churches. They were broke, had gone through many trials, yet they begged Paul to take their money, and they gave in a bigger way then Paul expected. Paul even tried to talk them out of it seeing they were so poor but if he had, The Macedonians would not have been so blessed by God because they were happy. Poor or rich if you are serving God you will have the same joy. We appreciate those who have given so graciously. This brings us back to Paul telling the Corinthians that they abounded in many things but generosity. He said you promised a year ago to help, and you never did. He encouraged them to give.That told me if Paul could ask for money so can I. One thing I don’t do is to ask anyone individually. I won’t put them on the spot and so the Donation link. After that we now see most Churches with donation links. Now they have congregations to give, but Missionaries have whoever will support them. I have never had a salary as Payatas is the poorest area of the Philippines. I live off my Social Security. Even though a good house can cost about $60,000, we can not afford to buy one. We are living in a pretty beat up house now. The last two months have been extremely difficult. My wife asked if we had money for my meds and I told her to wait. The refrigerator is getting empty, and we need to buy groceries. We just do the basics. No movies, dinner out, clothe shopping, only what is necessary. We have done it for 17 years. Yes, God provides, but he uses man and maybe this note is for you and not me because I am certain that my Lord will make it happen. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE CORINTHIANS
We still need $570 to pay for our websites to be restored and for an air conditioner for the Children’s room upstairs.The top floor in the Church gets extremely hot.
Even with the heat, all our ministries continue. Our Newly Baptized
Our Education Rewards Door knocking continues as well as a vibrant music ministry, We are still feeding the kids and the entire Church serves. |
