 Happy New Year! With the New Year we have changed our logo. Some are confused as to who we are. We are Payatas Baptist Church and our U.S. 5013c is Payatas Mission Outreach. PMO helps support PBC by being a Non-Profit venue for those needing a tax break.

| Rosh Hashanah, literally meaning “head [of] the year”, is the Jewish New Year. The biblical name for this holiday is Yom Teruah, literally “day of shouting or blasting”. It is the first of the Jewish High Holy Days specified by Leviticus 23:23–32 that occur in the early autumn of the Northern Hemisphere. Wikipedia
Other than someone else celebrating it seems the people of God celebrated from the beginning. They would blow the Shofar. Have you ever heard those annoying horns being blown on New Years? There ya go!
They would eat, and drink and celebrate like so many people do today. (Some, a little too much) They also would spend time in reflection.
We do that without knowing it when we sing “auld lang syne” (meaning, literally, “old long since”) has appeared in Scottish song as early as 1588
he song has been butchered a bit but it basically means, Days gone by.”
For Christians it is a good thing to have a time of reflection. “Did I do all that God would have me to do?” “Was I kind”. “Did I help the poor?” Did I treat my family well?
Take some time and reflect on your life and ask yourself, “If I was called before God at this moment would I hear Him say, well done my good and faithful servant?”
OUR EDUCATION PROGRAM
We have two college students graduating this year. One will be an English teacher and the other will spend a year reviewing for the C.P.A. Boards.
Please pray for their diligence.
We have 4 students for college. One is in college already (finishing the 1st year–Laura) We have paid for her college and the two girls above However, we have three more going into college this July (If I have the month right)
One we have paid for so we have two to go.
We have p44,017 ($884.56) and a promise of P80,000
which is $1459.95 That will bring us to $2,344.51
We still need $3,495.29 to send these top students to a good college.

We lost supporters because of Conservative views but God sent us others.
The Devil keeps pitching–Taal Volcano erupting, the Corona Virus but as we read in the Bible-Touch not my anointed.
It’s been a bumpy road but like the roller coaster at Coney Island—Very exhilarating!
