Success, what is it really?

Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
The dictionary describes success as:” the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.”

As Christians, we already know what our aim or purpose in this life is and that is to please pasteGod. We were made for that purpose. The idea is not to focus on ourselves but to focus on what pleases God.
God has different designs for each one of us. Some will tell you that God wants you all to be rich or famous.
Yet this is not true.
The Bible says: “1Sa_2:7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. “

We are also told that the poor shall be with us always and—“1Co_10:24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.”

In other words, we need to seek to build up others.

This by the way, is a principle of God. As we do unto others, God will do unto us.

Some people might say, “why would God make someone poor” the answer is simple, so they will look up and see him. Also, so they are without an excuse. The rich unbeliever will complain in that day that God should have made him poor so he would be forced to look up. The poor man will say he should have been rich so he would realize that it was God blessing him.

So confused are most of the world’s people. They are rushing to get rich or given in to be poor.

The truth is, success is reaching that aim or purpose. As we seek to do God’s will He will give us the success we need.

Will all be rich or famous. No. That is not the definition of success. As a matter of fact, there are many who have become both rich and famous but in God’s eyes they never attained success.

The sixth richest man in the world killed himself by a bullet to the head. So many stories about unhappy rich people. With wealth comes a great deal of responsibility to one’s own family, friends and the rest of the world.

God gave David the “desires of HIS heart” in other words, God put His own desires on David’s heart. Now David wanted what God wanted.

You can be dirt poor and happy and blessed. You can also be rich and happy and blessed.paste

As long as your aim in both cases is to please God and do His will.

Just remember the real formula for success is pleasing God. Not yourself. It is so much better if your pleasure comes from God.

In the meantime, don’t look at the poor as failures in life but as one design that God has created. Be careful, they may be far superior to you.
