August Update 2009

Typhoon Ondoy Hit Manila This Week.

With over 80 dead, this was the worse case of flooding in 43 years. Thank God our people remained safe from the storm. One of our people had their house engulfed in water. They were forced to leave by the local officials as the water rose to over six feet high in their home. All their possessions were floating in the house. Our church responded after the water abated to help clean everything but the loss was great. If you would like to help these people please mark your donation “The Dela Cruz Family”

My family is staying at the Church because we have no water or electric power at our home. Pray for the government to quickly repair the situation.

A Season of Testing

Recently we had to pull out of the medical clinic that was so instrumental in leading hundreds to Christ. As the Bible tells us, some had crept in and began to do things that was not acceptable to myself or the other Pastors that were involved with us. So we decided that to pull out to keep the cause of Christ from being trampled. We have been looking for another site to set up a clinic that would be ours exclusively. We have a doctor and staff ready to go along with the equipment needed but it will cost us roughly $1000 for start up fees. this would include rent, security, electric, water and setting up the building for a clinic. It is a brand new building in a great location near the Church. Please pray that we can get the resources before the building is rented.

Last week I was honored as the guest speaker for Heritage Baptist Church’s

World Mission Conference. After speaking I was informed by Pastor Legaspina that he was taking our Church on for support. We had a wonderful time of fellowship after the service with the Legaspina family.

Many missionaries go back to their originating Country to gain more support yet God has given us more than once, people that have taken us on while we are here. Please pray that more will see the things being done here in Payatas and will join with us with their prayers and financial support.

We received some Chick Tracts from the States and our children took them into the local schools. The kids love them and they pass them around to their friends. They get used over and over again. Our prayer is many will receive the word through those tracts. Our Church children , along with our adults, love to proclaim the Gospel of Christ every Saturaday as well as on their own during the week.

We have received more Bibles from Beams. It is such a help for those newly saved, to be able to present them with their own first Bible.

We approached the local school superintendant with a Bible curriculum that we want to present to the children each week. I am happy to say it has been approved and our youth Pastor is now working out a schedule with the local principal for the dates.

The ABS-CBN Television Network approached me for some stories of local people that are in need of help. This will possibly lead to exposure for our ministry (as it will be an international viewing) as well as creating more help for those in need here in Payatas.

Do you need prayer? Please send me your requests. I would love to pray for you.

Perly Andres

Pearl went to be with the Lord on

September 3rd, 2009

Our hope and joy is that we will see her once again at the sound of the trump.

The family would like to thank those of you who have helped them get through this time of sadness.

Some of you have requested the name and email address for our web designer and hosting company. His name is:

Manny Rodriguez

We have been able to sell some of our handmade Christmas ornaments and some of our people have been training to be call center agents.

Laura is quickly closing out her fourth grade studies and will soon be looking to start the fifth grade. We are so proud of her. She enjoys studying and loves Math and Science as her best subject. Definitely does not take after Dad!

She has also been getting lessons from our youth Pastor and is starting to play the organ.

If you would be so kind as to send us your photo we would like to place it on our wall where we have your names so that our people can see for whom they are praying.

 PBC Third Anniversary

Please pray for the success of our third anniversary of our Church this coming November 1, 2009.
