Luk 6:27
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate
you,
Real Christians know that we are not to hate
anyone. We may hate what they do but we do not hate the person.
Even Jesus said concerning those who were nailing
Him to the cross: Luk 23:34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for
they know not what they do
Christians very well know (at least they should) to
practice tolerance.
The word tolerance is defined as such: The
capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or
practices of others.
In the US,
we use a knife, fork and spoon. Here in the Philippines we use a fork and spoon.
Both sides of the ocean can respect the cultural diversity. That is tolerance.
When I married my wife and we were at home eating I became
quickly aware that she was eating rice with her hand. I was flabbergasted. That
would be taboo in the US.
After speaking with her we compromised that if we had company or went out to
dinner, she would use utensils. Thats tolerance. We dont make noise outside
of another religions church or mosque nor do we attack their beliefs.
However what tolerance is not is it is not accepting every
social malfunction that comes along.
Toleration is not accepting someone walking down the street
in a state of complete undress. They will be arrested.
Continuing in this same thought, homosexuality is not
something to be tolerated. As Christians we are to love the sinner and not the
sin but we do not to make homosexuals members of our churches nor should we
have to let them work in our Churches, etc
It seems here in the Philippines, it is all the rage to
have a homosexual or cross dresser on the TV show. How many Christians watch
those shows and buy the products advertised therein?
Recently, Miss California
lost the Miss America contest because she was asked the question, how did she
feel about same sex marriages and she said marriage is between a man and a
woman only. The homosexual judge rated her poorly for that comment and so she
lost. Where I ask, was the tolerance of the homosexual towards the beliefs of
others?
Now I am not in favor of the competition at all because I
feel it is promoting bodies and not people yet, we can not be confused by the
hypocrisy of the left.
Many Christians are bullied into what they think is
appropriate behavior towards all kinds of deviates. They feel they should be
more Christian towards these degenerates.
Isa 5:20Woe unto them that call evil good, and good
evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for
sweet, and sweet for bitter!
I
was so happy to see that Miss California was strong enough to resist the
temptation to reach for a temporary crown by placating the unfit judge.
We are not called to reinforce the sordid practices of the
left. We do not accept homosexuality. We do not accept abortion. We do not
accept laws taking away our right to speak out against sin.
It is high time we stop accepting things the way things are.
Look around you, the salt has been trodden underfoot and evil is everywhere.
How many times does an employer say to an employee that he
must work on Sunday? Christians need to reject that and not tremble at the
consequence but tremble before our God who you pledged to serve. The Muslims
would not dare work on Saturday and the employers would not dare force them so
then are we second class?
Who is tolerant of Christianity? I say to you that if we are
not strong, we will be the subject of hate and abuse by all others because we
failed to stand up for ourselves and failed to trust in our Lord.
In closing, my favorite verse:
Jos 24:15And if it seem evil unto you to serve the
LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your
fathers served that were on the other
side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as
for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
